The workshop will be led by Travis Loop of waterloop\, a media partner at the Reservoir Center. \nWhy Attend? \n\nUnderstand the importance of a compelling elevator pitch for promoting your organization’s initiatives and achievements.\nLearn to structure your pitch with an intro\, sections about your organization and role\, a brief success story to illustrate your work\, and a call to action.\nDiscover how to use the three-legged messaging stool\, which features a top-line message supported by a statistic\, soundbite\, and story.\nGain valuable presentation skills\, including tips on speaking confidently\, posture\, and body language to enhance your delivery on camera.\n\nWhat to Expect: \n\nIntroduction to Elevator Pitches: Discuss the significance of an elevator pitch in the context of organizational communication and review examples of effective pitches.\nCrafting Your Pitch: Roll up your sleeves and start crafting your personalized pitch. The session will guide you through each component\, ensuring your message is clear and impactful. Learn the three-legged messaging stool technique\, which includes creating a top-line message supported by a relevant statistic\, a memorable soundbite\, and a compelling story.\nPresentation Skills: Learn valuable advice on how to present yourself confidently on camera\, including speaking tips and body language techniques. Plus pick up tips on how to best use a cell phone to record videos for use on social media.\nRecording Your Pitch: Each participant will have the opportunity to record their pitch on camera\, which can be used to communicate your organization’s work and will also be featured as a part of “Voices of Reservoir.”\nNetworking and Snacks: Enjoy light refreshments while networking with fellow participants. Share your experiences\, gain feedback\, and build connections.\n\nAbout the Facilitator: \nTravis Loop is the founder of waterloop\, a nonprofit news outlet that explores solutions for sustainability and equity in water. With extensive experience in water communication and media\, Travis has been a prominent voice in the industry\, helping organizations amplify their messages and drive change.
