SUMMARY:Charting New Waters: The Next Chapter After Federal Service
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring and insightful event celebrating the journeys of water and environmental professionals who have transitioned from federal service to roles across the public\, private\, and nonprofit sectors.  During the evening\, you’ll hear former federal leaders share their experiences\, lessons learned\, and the opportunities that lie beyond government service. \nWhether you’re considering your next career move or simply curious about the evolving landscape of water and environmental jobs in DC\, this is a unique opportunity to connect and be inspired. \nThis is not a hiring fair\, you can expect candid conversations about career transitions and will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and build community. \nIf you need a refresh of your LinkedIn profile picture\, we will have a headshot station. \nDress is business casual. Light bites and drinks will be served. \nDoors open at 5:15. \nThis event is geared towards current and former federal employees and contractors\, students\, and anyone interested in exploring environmental and water career opportunities in the DC metro area that are outside of the Federal Sector. \n\n \n Email(Required)\n \n Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n TitleCompany(Required)Terms and Conditions:(Required)\n \n \n I agree to the terms and conditions.\n By registering for this event\, I agree to be added to the Reservoir Center Mailing List. SUMMARY:How to Be Heard on the Hill 2026
DESCRIPTION:If you are planning to meet with Congress this spring\, you will not want to miss this session.  \nPreparing for a congressional fly-in can feel high stakes. You may only have a few minutes with a member or staffer\, and how you use that time matters. \nOffered in advance of our in-person Water Week Pitch Lab & Networking Reception on Monday\, April 13\, this webinar is designed to help advocates build a strong foundation before arriving on Capitol Hill. \nKevin Letterly (Gov. Affairs Manager at ASDWA) will open the webinar with a brief 8-min overview outlining core strategies for effective congressional engagement. \nThen former congressional staffers Angela Ebiner and Joe Brown will host a candid\, practical conversation on what actually works in Hill meetings and what consistently falls flat. Drawing on years of experience inside Congress and working directly with lawmakers and committees\, Angela and Joe will break down how Hill offices think\, what they are listening for\, and how advocates can make their message land. \nModerated by Anthony DeRosa\, Executive Director of ASDWA\, the session will zero in on the insights advocates need most as they prepare to meet with Congress. \nThis session will focus on: \n\nWhat Hill staffers expect from fly-in meetings\nHow to tailor your message to a specific office or district\nCommon mistakes advocates make and how to avoid them\nHow to clearly articulate a compelling ask\nTips for building lasting relationships beyond a single visit\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to ask their own questions directly and get real\, unfiltered answers. \nTo encourage open conversation and insider-level guidance\, this webinar will not be recorded and we ask that participants do not bring any AI recording bots with them to the session. \nWe’re happy to partner with Rogue Water Lab and ASDWA to bring you this programming. \nRegister today
