The Work in Water Open House proved to be a smashing success and included more than 40 D.C. public high school students and volunteers representing an array of Reservoir Center partners and local water service providers.
The event helped students understand water challenges in their communities and allowed them to meet the people working to solve them. Students rotated through 10 activity stations designed to open their eyes to the world of water, ranging from digital water management challenges and water tower builds to mentorship with local university students and fun, blindfolded puzzle stations.
The afternoon included a panel of young professionals who shared their experiences working in the water sector, giving our guests ideas for how people of all skills and interests can contribute to positively impacting their community – and communities around the world – with clean water and sanitation.
